OPPORTUNITY: Performance Space 122 seeks interns in the Communications & Branding Department
TIME: September - December 2011 / January - April 2012 / May - August 2012
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR: Candidate must be motivated, work quickly and independently, with an interest in any of the following areas: arts administration, communications, sales, press, or social media. He or she must have intimate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, and be very internet-saavy. Candidate must be detail oriented, have very strong organizational skills, and possess a desire to understand the ins and outs of audience development, marketing/sales, and grassroots cultural organizing. He or she must have intimate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, be detail oriented, have very strong organizational skills, and possess a desire to understand the ins and outs of day to day operation of a non-profit arts organization, board relations and challenges particular to performing arts presenting center. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR: Ideal candidates must be motivated, work quickly and independently, with an interest in not-for-profit producing and arts management. He or she must have intimate knowledge of Microsoft Suite, specifically Word and Excel, have excellent oral and written communication skills, and be knowledgeable in respect to the contemporary performing arts. Candidates must also be detail oriented, organized, and possess a desire to understand the ins and outs of line-producing. Internship is 20 hours per week, and schedule is flexible based upon the needs of the individual and the department. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR: An intern to assist with video documentation and post-production of live performances at PS122. The position involves everything from camera work to editing, to uploading content to PS122.org. Video editing experience is a plus but can be taught to the right candidate.
