A Message from Vallejo
The city of New York has afforded us an incredible opportunity by supporting the much needed renovations to our home at 150 1st Avenue. With nowhere to go but everywhere, we have been enjoying the exploration of space and ideas and no longer feel defined by bricks and mortar. I believe that to delve into this exploration fully, PS122 must exist in different places, operate on different scales, must have a diverse audience and must present a wide array of artistic disciplines.
Interdisciplinary, contemporary, immersive, rigorous, textured, grounded, global, local, and very very live performance is what we do. It’s a vital part of our eco-system here in New York, and thereby an integral piece of contemporary society around the world. As we look to the future, we see a state of the art facility – with 2 theaters, a beautiful lobby, courtyard and rooftop, and plenty of bathrooms to return to. And we see a vast world of ideas to continue exploring.
