500 Clown Christmas
500 Clown keeps it coming this December with their hectic and heart-warming show 500 Clown Christmas.
This time composer and musician John Fournier joins 500 Clown to create a piece that's part-clown part-rock part-pop part-jazz part-theatre part-concert part-party! Diving into the dark and light sides of the all consuming consumer driven yet still surprisingly touching Christmas season, 3 clowns and a 3 piece band throw a celebration to make Fezziwig proud, complete with a holiday toast, gift-giving, and original live music.

DEMOCRACY IN AMERICA PART I
As we speak Democracy is on sale. At least in the context of this show. Why? Because everything in this performance can be bought. In fact, we're going further: our entire budget comes from what we sell. The whole event is powered by your purchases. If you don't buy, the set doesn't get built, the lights don't go on, and the actors don't get paid. Furthermore, if you don't buy, there is no performance: no words, no actions, no design, no nothing – just a loooong silence in the dark. With your participation, The Foundry Theatre and Annie Dorsen will premiere DEMOCRACY IN AMERICA at Performance Space 122 from April 1 – 20, 2008.

From November 26, 2007 through February 14, 2008, anyone may visit www.buydemocracy.com and buy any item listed for sale – or any item that is NOT listed. Our suggested items are only that: suggestions – we hope and expect that people will have many ideas that we haven't thought of. We guarantee that every purchase will be incorporated into the performance (limited only by what is safe and legal). We won't create anything of our own unless it's absolutely necessary. After the selling period is complete, we'll work with all the material that people have paid for to create a full-length performance collage.

Our Friends at The Kitchen Need Volunteers
The French-Austrian theatre collective Superamas returns to The Kitchen for the last installment of BIG, a trilogy showcasing their masterfully humorous and cynical spin on today’s entertainment and mass consumer culture.
BIG 3rd Episode (happy/end) relies on the participation of 10 volunteers (male and female, ages 18-50) with an interest in theatre, performance, or dance. Volunteers will participate in two scenes: 1) a night club scene which is purely improvisational and 2) another scene which includes one simple, choreographed dance routine. Participants can wear casual clothes that are comfortable to dance in and which would be appropriate for a dance club. No black-soled shoes please.
There will be three rehearsals to learn the scenes and four one-hour performances.
Rehearsals:
- Two rehearsals on Monday and Tuesday, January 7 and 8 from 6pm to 8pm at
The Kitchen (512 West 19th Street, between 10th and 11th Avenues)
- One dress rehearsal on Wednesday, January 9 from 6pm to 10pm
Performance Dates:
- Thursday–Saturday, January 10-12, arrive at 7pm, showtime at 8pm,
finished by 9:30.
- Sunday, January 13, arrive at 3pm, showtime at 4pm, finished by 5:30.
