INTERNATIONAL CONTEMPORARY ENSEMBLE
The Forest is Young and Full of Life
In the 1960's Italian composer Luigi Nono turned to theater and electronics to express his political sentiments outside of the constraints of the concert hall. Nono's bold anti-war statement, A floresta é jovem cheja de vida (The Forest is Young and Full of Life, 1966) blends his experiments with the human voice, traditional instruments and electronic playback into a self-contained dramatic work.
