PS122 looking for Fall Interns

Performance Space 122 seeks 3 different interns in the External Affairs Department for Fall 2013:
Social Media & Communications, Communications & Design, Patron Relations
Time: September 3 – December 20, 2013

Performance Space 122 (PS122), a not-for-profit, New York City East Village institution founded 30 years ago, is recognized internationally for its presentations of contemporary theater, dance, music and live art.

SOCIAL MEDIA & COMMUNICATIONS INTERN DESCRIPTION:
PS122 is seeking a Social Media & Communications intern to work closely with the Communications & Branding Manager. Candidate must be motivated, work quickly and independently, with an interest in arts administration, communications/press and social media. He or she must have intimate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, and be somewhat internet-saavy. Candidate must be detail oriented, have very strong organizational skills, and possess a desire to understand the ins and outs of audience development, marketing and grassroots cultural organizing. Ideally available a minimum of 10-15 hours per week during office hours with flexibility for the right person.

Opportunity to learn and grow within the two following areas:
– Assisting in executing PS122’s social media strategy: facebook, twitter, vine and instagram
– Assisting the Communications & Branding Manager execute an external communications strategy: generating content for weekly patron emails, the PS122 blog, show listings, targeting peer, partner and special interest organizations for cross-promotion opportunities

COMMUNICATIONS & DESIGN INTERN DESCRIPTION:
PS122 is seeking a Communications & Design intern to work closely with the Communications & Branding Manager and the Creative Technology Developer with PS122’s in-house design needs. Candidate must be motivated, work quickly and independently, with an interest in communications, design and social media. He or she must have intimate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Photoshop and InDesign) and be internet-saavy. Candidate must be detail oriented, have very strong organizational skills, and possess a desire to understand the ins and outs of marketing, design and grassroots cultural organizing. Ideally available a minimum of 10-15 hours per week during office hours with flexibility for the right person.

PATRON RELATIONS INTERN DESCRIPTION:
PS122 is seeking a Patron Relations intern to work closely with the Communications & Branding Manager and Box Office & Patron Relations Manager. Candidate must be motivated, work quickly and independently, with an interest in arts administration, communications and audience development. He or she must have intimate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, and be somewhat internet-saavy. Candidate must be detail oriented, have very strong organizational skills, and possess a desire to understand the ins and outs of audience development, marketing and grassroots cultural organizing. Ideally available a minimum of 10-15 hours per week during office hours with flexibility for the right person.

Opportunity to learn and grow within the following areas:
– Audience Development: targeting peer, partner and special interest organizations for cross-promotion opportunities, developing show, artist and content specific audience cultivation
– Patron Database Systems: working with Box Office & Patron Relations Manager to ensure proper information is stored in Ovationtix (PS122’s ticket software) to assist External Affairs team in analyzing and reporting on patron and audience data.

These are unpaid internships, however, college credit can be applied.
